Attention equestrian enthusiasts — 500 of the nation’s top equine athletes and their riders will converge at the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show this week — Sept. 28 – Oct. 2, at the National Equestrian Center, 6880 Lake Saint Louis Blvd, in Lake Saint Louis, Mo.

The show features the American Saddlebred horse, known as the “peacock of the show ring” for its flashy action, and beautiful, high stepping gait that reaches incredible speeds. This powerfully muscled horse stands 17 “hands” high and weighs in at up to 1,200 pounds.

For those looking to learn more or enter the sport, this free event allows enthusiasts and spectators alike to witness owners, exhibitors, trainers, riding instructors, and breeders at their finest.
